Things to do here

The top-rated tours and activities here — all with instant confirmation and free cancellation on most bookings.

Dubai offers a wider range of activities than its reputation for luxury shopping might suggest. Alongside the headline experiences — the Burj Khalifa, desert safaris, and the Palm — there is genuinely good street-level history in the Creek area, excellent diving off the coast, world-class cycling infrastructure, and some surprisingly quiet natural spots within day-trip distance.

Iconic Experiences

Burj Khalifa — At the Top: The 124th and 125th floor observation decks offer unobstructed views over Dubai and the desert beyond. Entry from approximately AED 109 online (AED 149 on the day). The SKY observation deck on floor 148 is approximately AED 379. Sunset slots book out days in advance — plan ahead.

Dubai Desert Safari: A half or full-day combination of dune bashing, camel riding, and a Bedouin camp dinner with entertainment. Prices range from approximately AED 150 for a shared standard tour to AED 600+ for private sunset experiences. See our full desert safari guide.

Dubai Creek and Heritage: The Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the Dubai Museum (AED 3), the gold and spice souks in Deira, and the AED 1 abra crossing are all free or minimal cost. Budget 3–4 hours for the full circuit. Genuinely one of Dubai’s best experiences.

Dubai Frame: The 150-metre picture-frame structure has a glass floor walkway bridging the two towers. Entry approximately AED 50. A great contrast to the Burj Khalifa — looks at old and new Dubai simultaneously.

Water and Beach

Aquaventure Waterpark (Atlantis The Palm): Day pass approximately AED 300–350 adults. Includes a private beach and over 30 slides and rides. Opens 10:00–sunset daily.

Ski Dubai (Mall of the Emirates): Indoor ski slope inside a shopping mall. A two-hour ski or snowboard session costs approximately AED 200–250 including equipment hire. The Snow Park (no skiing) is approximately AED 170.

Jumeirah Beach: Public access is free along the Jumeirah strip. The beach behind Kite Beach in Umm Suqeim is particularly nice and has the added spectacle of kitesurfers overhead.

Scuba diving: Dubai has several dive sites on artificial reefs and wrecks in the Gulf. Visibility is limited (5–8 m) compared to Fujairah, but it is convenient. A single boat dive costs approximately AED 200–250 with equipment.

Culture and Heritage

Jumeirah Mosque: One of the few mosques in Dubai open to non-Muslim visitors. Free guided tours run Saturday–Thursday at 10:00. A donation of AED 35 is requested. Photography is permitted.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood: The 19th-century wind-tower district is one of Dubai’s most atmospheric areas. Free to explore. Several small galleries and the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding are within the neighbourhood.

Dubai Opera: The dhow-shaped performing arts venue in Downtown hosts opera, ballet, concerts, and theatre. Ticket prices vary widely from approximately AED 100 for some concerts to AED 1,000+ for major international productions.

Theme Parks and Family

IMG Worlds of Adventure: One of the world’s largest indoor theme parks with Marvel, Cartoon Network, and Jurassic Park zones. Entry approximately AED 365 adults. Open Sunday–Thursday 11:00–20:00, Friday–Saturday 11:00–21:00.

Legoland Dubai: Family-focused theme park in Dubai Parks and Resorts. Entry approximately AED 295. Best for children aged 2–12.

Global Village: Open October through May annually. An outdoor festival park with national pavilions representing 90+ countries. Entry approximately AED 25. Food and entertainment from around the world — good for families and low-key evenings.

Outdoors and Active

Al Qudra Cycling Track: A 90 km loop through the desert south of Dubai with a lake that attracts flamingos and other birds. Free to use — bring water and start early morning in warmer months. Bike hire available at the trailhead.

Dubai Creek Park: A large park along the Creek with a cable car, botanical garden, and children’s play areas. Entry approximately AED 5. Best in the cooler months.

Dubai Golf: The Montgomerie and Emirates Golf Club are among several championship courses. Green fees approximately AED 500–900 depending on course and season.

Tours

Booking a guided tour removes the transport and planning challenge, particularly useful for the desert, Abu Dhabi day trips, and the Creek heritage area. See available Dubai tours for options starting from approximately AED 150.
