Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the world’s largest indoor theme park by floor area, covering over 200,000 square metres beneath a sweeping red canopy shaped like a Ferrari GT body. The Signature Rides

Formula Rossa

The headline attraction and the world’s fastest roller coaster. Formula Rossa launches riders from 0 to 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds along a track inspired by the Mugello circuit in Italy. Protective goggles are mandatory — the park provides them at the boarding gate. The ride is roughly 90 seconds long.

Height requirement: 140 cm minimum. This is strictly enforced.

Queue tip: Ride Formula Rossa first thing after the park opens. By mid-morning on a busy weekend, waits routinely reach 45–60 minutes. On quieter weekdays, waits can be under 15 minutes.

Flying Aces

The park’s most visually dramatic ride, and arguably its most technically impressive. Flying Aces features the world’s tallest loop at 52 metres and a near-vertical 120-degree drop. The theme is built around the story of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari’s friend, the World War I flying ace Francesco Baracca. Riders sit in bi-plane-style seats that rotate along the track.

Height requirement: 140 cm minimum.

Turbo Track

An outdoor launch coaster that shoots riders through a transparent tube extending beyond the roof of the park’s main canopy. The track loops back inside, giving a brief moment of open sky before returning to the air-conditioned interior. The combination of outdoor exposure and indoor comfort makes this one of the park’s more distinctive experiences.

Height requirement: 120 cm minimum.

Speed of Magic

A 4D dark ride experience that takes guests on a journey through a computer-animated Ferrari landscape. Suitable for most ages, with no height restriction. Good as a cooler break between the high-intensity rides and a solid choice for younger visitors.

Junior Grand Prix

A scaled-down go-kart experience on a circuit styled after a Formula 1 track, designed for children aged 3–12. Young drivers steer small electric cars around the circuit at low speed. Popular with families and typically requires moderate queuing on weekends.

GT Simulator

A racing simulator experience using real Ferrari GT cockpit components. Visitors drive a virtual track. Suitable for most ages. Expect a short wait rather than a long queue — the experience is quick and seats rotate rapidly.

Zones and Layout

The park is organised into zones themed around Ferrari’s history, design philosophy, and racing heritage:

• The Galleria — the main entrance zone, featuring Ferrari road cars on display, a café, and the main retail area. Worth a few minutes to see the evolution of Ferrari design before hitting the rides.
• Racing History Zone — exhibits and archives tracing Ferrari’s Formula 1 championships, including original cars and trophies.
• Pit Stop Challenge Zone — live pit stop demonstrations and interactive activities for visitors to attempt tyre changes.
• Made in Maranello — a showcase of the Ferrari manufacturing process, featuring a replica of production line stages from the Maranello factory in Italy.

Dining at Ferrari World

Mamma Rossella is the main sit-down restaurant, serving Italian food — pasta, pizza, antipasti — in a setting that replicates an Italian village square inside the park. Mains cost approximately AED 80–150 per person as of 2026. The restaurant accepts walk-ins but can fill quickly at midday.

Cavallino Café offers quick-service snacks, sandwiches, and coffee near the Formula Rossa entrance. Prices are on par with a typical tourist attraction food outlet — budget approximately AED 40–70 for a light meal.

Paddock Pit Lane is a grab-and-go kiosk serving hot dogs, burgers, and fries near the indoor racing zone. Useful for a quick stop without leaving the ride area.

Outside food is technically not permitted inside, though families commonly bring snacks. Water bottles are allowed. The park is large enough that a sit-down lunch mid-visit is worth planning for — attempting to ride everything before eating makes for a long afternoon.

Getting There

From Dubai

By car or taxi: Approximately 1 hour via the E11 (Sheikh Zayed Road) heading toward Abu Dhabi, then Yas Island exits. Taxis cost approximately AED 150–200 one way. Ride-hailing apps (Careem, Uber) operate this route and are generally reliable.

By bus: No direct public bus runs from Dubai to Yas Island. The closest option is the E101 public bus from Union Square, Dubai, to Abu Dhabi’s Central Bus Station (approximately AED 25, around 2 hours), then a taxi to Yas Island (approximately AED 30–40). This adds significant travel time and is impractical for a day trip with young children.

From Abu Dhabi City Centre

By taxi: Approximately 25–30 minutes from central Abu Dhabi. Taxis cost approximately AED 50–70. The park is well signed from the main Abu Dhabi highways.

By Yas Express: The Yas Express shuttle bus connects the three Yas Island parks to the Abu Dhabi bus network and select points on the island. Tickets are approximately AED 15 one way. Check the Yas Island website for current schedules — the service runs more frequently on weekends.

By car: Yas Island parking is free. The main Ferrari World car park is directly adjacent to the park entrance and is large enough that finding a space is rarely an issue, even on busy days.

Best Time to Visit

November to March is the most comfortable period. Outdoor temperatures between 18–26°C make the short exposed sections of rides like Turbo Track genuinely enjoyable rather than a brief endurance sprint before returning to air conditioning. These months coincide with UAE school holidays and the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix (typically held in December), which brings the highest visitor numbers of the year.

April to October is doable but hot. The park is almost entirely air-conditioned, so heat is less of a factor inside than at outdoor parks. The F1 Grand Prix crowd and school holidays in March and December push queues significantly longer — weekday visits during school terms are the least crowded option.

Weekday mornings produce the shortest queues regardless of season. Arriving at opening (11:00) and heading directly to Formula Rossa, then Flying Aces, sets you up to ride both with minimal waiting before the main crowd arrives.

Practical Tips

Height checks: Carry a printed copy or screenshot of your tickets. Height measurements for all rides are taken at the boarding gate, not the queue entrance — if a child is borderline, it is worth measuring at home first rather than waiting in a long queue only to be turned away.

Photography: The park permits personal photography throughout. A professional camera service operates on Formula Rossa — operators photograph you at peak acceleration and the images are available for purchase at the exit.
