Dubai Marina and JBR suit first-time leisure travellers well - beach access, a walkable promenade, plenty of restaurants, and a Red Line Metro stop. It’s lively at night without being chaotic.
Deira and Bur Dubai (Old Dubai) are the best-value districts. The neighbourhood is dense and authentic, the souks are walkable, and Dubai International Airport is minutes away. Expect lower prices and less polish.
Palm Jumeirah is a self-contained resort destination. If you’re here specifically for the beach and pool and don’t plan to leave the island often, it works. If you want to explore the city, the monorail connections are slower than they look on a map.
