Ajman is the smallest of the seven UAE emirates and the one that most visitors overlook — which is partly why it works so well as a budget base. Hotel prices are lower than Sharjah, significantly lower than Dubai, and you get a clean public beach on the Arabian Gulf that has a fraction of the crowds of JBR in Dubai. If you’re price-conscious and don’t need a pool villa and a Michelin restaurant on site, Ajman is worth serious consideration.
Which Part of Ajman Should You Stay In?
The Corniche is where the best hotels are — a waterfront strip with direct beach access and a pleasant evening promenade. The main cluster of tourist accommodation sits here. Most visitors to Ajman choose to stay within a few hundred metres of the Corniche.
Ajman Uptown is the newer residential and commercial district further inland — some newer hotels and serviced apartments, but less atmosphere and no beach access.
Near Ajman City Centre Mall is the practical choice for those who want easy access to shopping, a pharmacy, and transport hubs over beach proximity.
Budget Hotels in Ajman (approximately AED 110–240 per night as of 2026)
ibis Ajman is the most dependable budget option in the emirate — right near Ajman City Centre mall, Metro-adjacent (for connecting to Dubai), clean rooms, and consistently positive reviews. From approximately AED 120 per night as of 2026.
Ramee Garden Hotel Apartments near the Corniche gives budget travellers apartment-style rooms with kitchen facilities — a real bonus for longer stays or families. From approximately AED 130 per night as of 2026.
City Stay Beach Hotel Apartment is right on the Corniche strip and is one of the best-value beach-access options in Ajman. Rooms are simple but the location is excellent. From approximately AED 150 per night as of 2026.
Al Bustan Hotel Ajman is a locally run property near the harbour offering honest, no-frills accommodation at low rates. From approximately AED 110 per night as of 2026.
Mid-Range Hotels in Ajman (approximately AED 250–520 per night as of 2026)
Ramada Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Ajman on the Corniche is the strongest mid-range beach option — spacious rooms, a pool and beach access, multiple restaurants, and a service level that earns consistently good reviews. From approximately AED 280 per night as of 2026.
Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche is a polished mid-range property with direct beach access and good family facilities. From approximately AED 320 per night as of 2026.
Goldstate Hotel near the Corniche is a solid local-brand property with pool and restaurant, popular with families from the wider UAE on weekend stays. From approximately AED 260 per night as of 2026.
Kempinski Hotel Ajman is the top of the mid-range / bottom of the luxury tier — a genuine five-star building with private beach and excellent pool, though slightly dated in places. From approximately AED 500 per night as of 2026.
Luxury Hotels in Ajman (approximately AED 600–1,200 per night as of 2026)
Ajman’s luxury market is smaller than the other major UAE cities, but one property stands out clearly.
Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort by Marriott is the benchmark — a well-maintained beachfront property with private beach, multiple pools, excellent spa facilities, and the full Luxury Collection standard of food and service. It’s popular for UAE staycations precisely because the quality-to-price ratio is better than equivalent Dubai properties. From approximately AED 700 per night as of 2026.
Fairmont Ajman is the other serious luxury option — a beachfront resort with all the expected Fairmont facilities and good kids’ club options for families. From approximately AED 800 per night as of 2026.
Best Areas by Traveller Type
Families: Corniche strip — Wyndham Garden Ajman or Ajman Saray for beach access plus pool facilities and space. The Ajman beach is genuinely good for children.
Couples on a budget: Ramada Ajman Corniche for a decent mid-range beach stay without Dubai prices.
Business travellers: Near City Centre mall — ibis Ajman connects easily to the Sharjah/Dubai commute route. There is very little business infrastructure in Ajman itself — most business travellers use Ajman as a cheaper bedroom for Sharjah or Dubai work.
Extended stays: Ramee Garden Hotel Apartments — kitchen facilities and low monthly rates make this a popular choice for longer-term UAE residents.
First-time UAE visitors on a budget: ibis Ajman for a no-risk budget stay with easy connections.
Booking Tips
Dubai is 25–35 minutes away. The E311 connects Ajman to Dubai’s northern districts in approximately 25 minutes under normal traffic. During peak commuting hours (7–9am, 5–8pm) this stretches to 45–60 minutes. Staying in Ajman and day-tripping to Dubai is entirely practical.
Ajman is a dry emirate. Like Sharjah, Ajman prohibits alcohol. No hotel in Ajman serves alcohol at any point. Factor this in if evening dining with wine is important to your trip.
Beach quality. The Ajman Corniche public beach is one of the cleaner and less crowded beaches in the northern UAE. Private beach access at the Ajman Saray and Fairmont is good — both properties maintain their stretches well.
Taxis from Ajman to Dubai Airport: approximately AED 80–100 as of 2026. Confirm current rates before your journey as UAE taxi fares are subject to adjustment.
Ramadan pricing. Like all UAE hotels, Ajman properties are significantly cheaper during Ramadan, particularly at the luxury end. Verify exact dates each year (dates shift annually with the Islamic calendar).
Alternative to the weekend premium: Unlike Dubai, Ajman’s weekend premiums are more modest — typically 15–25% above weeknight rates rather than 50–80%. This makes it one of the most predictably priced options in the UAE for weekend breaks.
