Air France updated its passenger advisory on 19 September to extend the suspension of all flights to and from Dubai, with no services now scheduled to resume until after 13 October 2026. On the same date, flydubai cancelled its Dubai–Bahrain (FZ023/FZ024) and Dubai–Abha (FZ815/FZ816) routes.

Why This Is Happening

The EASA conflict-zone information bulletin (CZIB-2026-07R2) covering Gulf airspace remains in effect through 30 September. Air France - which had already suspended Dubai flights as a precautionary measure following earlier regional escalation - has now extended beyond the EASA bulletin’s current expiry date, signalling it does not expect conditions to normalise quickly. The US Embassy issued a regional security alert on 19 September also warning of potential further flight cancellations and airspace closures across the Gulf.

Which Carriers Are Affected

Air France is currently among the most prominent Western carriers to set a specific October resumption date. FlyDubai has additionally cut its Bahrain and Abha routes, routes that serve regional connections rather than long-haul travellers.

Emirates, Etihad, and flydubai’s remaining network are continuing to operate, though passengers should monitor airline communications as the situation has been shifting week by week. Several carriers are making decisions on a rolling basis rather than publishing fixed resumption dates.

What You Should Do

  • Air France passengers with Dubai itineraries before 13 October should contact Air France or their travel agent to rebook or claim a refund under EU261 provisions if applicable.
  • FlyDubai passengers on Bahrain and Abha services should check their airline app for the latest status.
  • Connecting passengers routing through Dubai onto Air France regional services should verify their entire itinerary is intact before travelling.
  • All Dubai-bound travellers should confirm their specific carrier is operating before heading to the airport, regardless of whether they are booked on a currently suspended airline.
