Dubai International Airport (DXB) is one of the world’s busiest airports, and its lounges reflect the city’s premium-first approach to travel. Whether you’re transiting for three hours or starting a long-haul journey, gaining lounge access transforms the experience - reliable Wi-Fi, proper food, and a quiet space away from the terminal floor. Here’s a complete guide to every way you can get in, sorted by terminal.

Understanding DXB’s Three Terminals

On a long connection? Our Dubai layover guide shows what to do in 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours.

Before booking or planning access, know which terminal you’re departing from:

  • Terminal 1 handles a wide mix of international carriers including British Airways, Qantas, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Air France, Cathay Pacific, and most non-Emirates airlines.
  • Terminal 2 is used primarily by flydubai and regional carriers such as Air Arabia.
  • Terminal 3 is exclusively Emirates - both economy and business/first class depart here.

Each terminal has its own set of lounges. Your access method in T3 will not help you in T1, so check your terminal before assuming access.

Priority Pass Lounges at DXB

Priority Pass is the most flexible lounge access tool at DXB. The main Priority Pass-accessible lounge across all three terminals is the Marhaba Lounge, operated by dnata (a Dubai Airports subsidiary).

  • Terminal 1: Marhaba Lounge, Concourse B and Concourse C
  • Terminal 2: Marhaba Lounge, airside
  • Terminal 3: Marhaba Lounge, Concourse B and Concourse C

Priority Pass membership grants complimentary entry if your card includes visits as part of the plan. If you pay per visit, expect the standard rate of approximately USD 32–35 (AED 118–130) charged to your Priority Pass account. Children aged 2–11 are typically charged at half rate; under-2s free.

The Marhaba lounges offer hot and cold buffet food, barista coffee, showers (bookable on arrival), reliable Wi-Fi, and separate quiet zones. Quality is consistently good - it’s a premium airport lounge product, not an afterthought.

Credit Card Lounge Access at DXB

Several credit cards provide Marhaba Lounge access or broader lounge access through bundled Priority Pass:

  • American Express Platinum (UAE): Unlimited Priority Pass visits at Marhaba lounges, plus access at hundreds of other airports globally. Annual fee runs approximately AED 3,000–4,000.
  • Citibank Prestige Card: Includes Priority Pass with a set number of complimentary annual visits.
  • ADCB Traveller / Titanium cards: Many include direct Marhaba Lounge access for DXB. Check the specific card tier - entry-level ADCB cards often limit visits to 4–6 per year.
  • Emirates NBD Visa Infinite / Signature: Typically includes Priority Pass or direct Marhaba access as a core benefit.
  • Mashreq Solitaire: Offers Priority Pass with complimentary visits.

If you already hold a premium UAE bank card, log into your banking app or call the number on the back of the card - many cardholders don’t realise lounge access is included. Access is usually claimable at the lounge by presenting the physical card and your boarding pass.

Airline-Specific Lounges by Terminal

Terminal 3 - Emirates Lounges

Emirates operates five lounges at T3, across Concourse A, B, and C:

  • Business Class Lounge: Available to all Emirates Business Class passengers, regardless of frequent flyer status. Features include à la carte dining, a Timeless Spa treatment included in the visit, and dedicated quiet areas.
  • First Class Lounge & Spa: For Emirates First Class passengers and Skywards Platinum members. Includes a full spa with complimentary 15-minute treatments, private dining rooms, and a cigar lounge.

Note: Emirates lounges at T3 are not accessible via Priority Pass. You need an Emirates Business or First class ticket, or Skywards Platinum/Gold status on an eligible fare.

Terminal 1 - Alliance Lounges

T1 hosts several alliance lounges that airline status holders can use:

  • Qatar Airways Al Mourjan–style access: Not a dedicated lounge here, but OneWorld members at Emerald/Sapphire tier can use partner business class lounges.
  • Lufthansa Senator / Business Class Lounge: Available to Star Alliance Gold members flying Star Alliance airlines.
  • British Airways / Qantas Lounge: Accessible to OneWorld Emerald and Sapphire cardholders.
  • Air France / KLM Lounge (SkyTeam): SkyTeam Elite Plus members may access these during T1 departures.

Alliance lounge access depends on your tier and the operating airline. Confirm with your carrier before travel.

Day-Pass Options and Walk-In Costs

You don’t need a Priority Pass or a premium credit card to get into a DXB lounge. All Marhaba Lounges sell day-pass entry directly:

Access methodApproximate cost (2024–2025)
Marhaba day pass (adult)AED 185–260 (approx. USD 50–70)
Marhaba day pass (child 2–11)AED 95–130
Booking via Marhaba websiteSlightly cheaper than walk-in
Priority Pass per-visit chargeUSD 32–35

Book through the Marhaba website in advance for the best rate - walk-in pricing at busy periods can be higher, and lounge capacity during peak hours (mainly 06:00–10:00 and 20:00–23:00) occasionally triggers a wait.

A three-hour layover with a shower, a hot meal, and Wi-Fi is comfortably worth AED 200 for most travellers making a long connection through Dubai. For a complete walkthrough of the Marhaba Day Pass booking process, facilities, pricing tiers, and how it compares to other lounge access methods, see our Marhaba Day Pass guide.

Which Lounge Is Best for Each Terminal?

Terminal 1: The Marhaba Lounge in Concourse B is the most spacious and best stocked. If you have alliance status, check whether your airline has a dedicated lounge - the food quality is typically higher than Marhaba’s buffet.

Terminal 2: The Marhaba Lounge is the only independent lounge option. It’s smaller than the T1 and T3 equivalents but well maintained. A solid choice for flydubai passengers.

Terminal 3: For priority access without Business or First class tickets, the Marhaba Lounge in Concourse B is the best independent option. If you’re flying Emirates Business or First, the dedicated Emirates lounges are among the best in the world - the First Class Lounge in Concourse B is frequently ranked among the top airport lounges globally.

Practical Tips for DXB Lounge Visits

  • Arrive early: Lounge access is per visit, not per hour. Arriving 2.5–3 hours before departure gives you time to eat, shower, and board without rushing.
  • Showers book up fast: At busy periods (early morning and late evening waves), shower suites fill within 30 minutes of the lounge opening. Ask at the lounge reception as soon as you arrive.
  • Children and access: Most Marhaba Lounges admit children at the reduced rate. Emirates First Class Lounge has a dedicated children’s area - one of the few in the world.
  • No Priority Pass? Buy a visit: If you only transit through Dubai once or twice a year, a Marhaba day pass is cheaper than an annual Priority Pass subscription.

For getting between terminals before check-in, a free inter-terminal shuttle bus runs between T1, T2 and T3. See our Dubai airport guide for full transport, connection times, and Metro access.

For everything else you need before the trip, our Dubai getting-around guide covers Metro, taxi, and transport options into the city from DXB - including the Dubai airport transfer options by budget and destination. We also recommend sorting your UAE travel insurance before you fly - it covers missed connections and delays, which are more common than most people expect through a hub as busy as DXB.
