Three Lufthansa Group carriers are resuming scheduled services to Dubai International Airport (DXB) this week and over the coming months, extending the group’s phased return to the UAE following regional airspace disruptions throughout October 2026.
SWISS will operate its first scheduled Zurich–Dubai service from 27 October, flying daily on the ZRH–DXB route. Eurowings follows from 1 November, reinstating its Berlin Brandenburg–Dubai daily service; its winter operations from Cologne-Bonn and Stuttgart remain cancelled for the season. Austrian Airlines will resume Vienna–Dubai from 12 December at five weekly frequencies.
Parent carrier Lufthansa had already restarted Munich–Dubai services on 25 October and Frankfurt–Dubai on 26 October. Once Austrian rejoins in December, the Lufthansa Group will reach a peak of 28 weekly departures to Dubai across all of its brands.
Practical information for passengers
Lufthansa Group has cautioned that short-notice adjustments remain possible and that the regional situation continues to require monitoring. Key points for travellers using these routes:
- SWISS from 27 October: Zurich–Dubai is one of SWISS’s highest-volume leisure and connecting routes and is likely to fill quickly ahead of the winter season. Book directly with the airline or via a code-share partner and confirm your reservation before travelling to the airport.
- Eurowings from 1 November: Only the Berlin Brandenburg departure is resuming. Passengers originally booked on now-cancelled Cologne-Bonn or Stuttgart–Dubai flights should contact Eurowings for rebooking options on the Berlin service or via a Lufthansa connection at another German hub.
- Austrian from 12 December: Five frequencies per week will operate from Vienna, but exact departure days have not been confirmed at the time of writing. Check the Austrian Airlines schedule tool for the latest timetable.
Passengers connecting onto long-haul services via SWISS or Austrian hubs should verify transfer arrangements with their ticketing carrier, as revised flight timings may have changed minimum connection windows since original schedules were issued.
Broader context at Dubai International
The wider airline picture at DXB has improved considerably over the past week. Emirates and flydubai have operated continuously throughout the disruption period, and a growing number of European, Asian and Gulf carriers have reinstated scheduled services. British Airways remains suspended until at least 3 November, and Cathay Pacific until January 2027.
Dubai Airports advises all passengers to check live flight status before travelling to the terminal, as some delays continue at peak times.
