British Airways has extended its moratorium on Dubai International Airport (DXB) services, with no BA flights scheduled to or from the UAE until at least 3 November 2026. Passengers holding tickets on affected routes should contact the airline directly for rebooking or refund options.
KLM’s suspension on Dubai routes is set to end around 24 October, making the Dutch carrier among the first major European airlines to restore its UAE schedule since Gulf airspace restrictions escalated earlier this year. Cathay Pacific, by contrast, confirmed a longer pause running through January 2027.
Live tracking data from 20 October recorded 234 delays and 24 cancellations at Dubai International on that single day alone, a sign that schedule disruption across the airport remains significant even as the broader regional situation stabilises.
What this means for travellers
If you are booked on British Airways to or from Dubai before 3 November, your main options are:
- A full refund if BA has cancelled your specific flight
- Rebooking to a later date at no extra charge
- Rerouting via Abu Dhabi, which uses a separate airspace corridor served by Etihad and several partner carriers
Emirates and flydubai have continued operating core Dubai services throughout the disruption period, and a number of European and Asian airlines have already reinstated normal schedules over the past few weeks.
Planning ahead for November and December
With the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix running 4-6 December and Dubai’s peak winter season beginning in earnest from mid-November, demand on UAE routes is rising sharply. Travellers planning trips in the coming weeks should confirm their airline’s current status before booking, and allow extra time at DXB, where schedule volatility remains higher than usual.
Check your airline’s website and the Dubai Airports flight status board before heading to the terminal. For more on getting to the UAE, see our flights to Dubai guide and Dubai city guide.
