Emirates and flydubai have each extended their suspension of Dubai-Saudi Arabia services, with most affected routes now on hold until 29 October 2026. Flights between Dubai and Riyadh are expected to resume later, on 8 November.
Routes Affected
According to Gulf Today reporting from 23 October, the suspensions cover the following Dubai-Saudi Arabia corridors:
- Dubai-Dammam: Emirates and flydubai services suspended through 29 October
- Dubai-Jeddah: Emirates flights suspended through 29 October
- Dubai-Abha: Services suspended through 29 October
- Dubai-Riyadh: Resumption not expected until 8 November
Passengers holding tickets on these routes should contact their airline directly to rebook or request a refund. Emirates’ contact centre and flydubai’s online rebooking portal are the fastest options.
Other Airlines Still Affected
Several European and North American carriers have also had Dubai suspensions running through October, though some have begun restoring services. KLM’s Dubai cancellations were extended through 31 October as of 10 October. Air Canada’s Dubai flights have faced a similar prolonged suspension, with timelines varying by source.
Travellers transiting through Dubai International should check their connecting airline’s status separately. Arrivals and departures on intercontinental routes have largely normalised, but the Saudi corridor remains the main ongoing gap.
Practical Advice
If you have flights booked to Saudi Arabia from Dubai in the coming fortnight, verify the current status before travelling to the airport. Emirates and flydubai have both been issuing rolling extension announcements, so dates may shift further.
Passengers affected by a cancellation originating from an EU airport on an EU-licensed carrier may have rights to rerouting or compensation under EC Regulation 261/2004. Our UAE flight delay compensation guide covers what you are and are not entitled to in different cancellation scenarios.
For live departure and arrival data at Dubai International, see our Dubai Airport guide. Travellers holding travel insurance should also review their policy terms, as disruption to onward connections and pre-booked accommodation is typically claimable when a flight is cancelled by the airline rather than by the passenger.
The UAE’s own international network remains intact on routes outside the Saudi corridor. For an overview of which carriers are currently serving Dubai, see our flights to Dubai guide.
