Dubai Food Festival (DFF) is an annual citywide celebration of the emirate’s restaurant scene, typically running for around three weeks in October and November. The 2026 edition runs 22 October to 8 November, spanning restaurants, outdoor markets, celebrity chef appearances, and culinary workshops across multiple city neighbourhoods.

The festival was first held in 2014 and has grown steadily since, tracking Dubai’s emergence as a serious dining destination. The city now has restaurants representing well over 200 nationalities, and DFF uses that diversity as its centrepiece.

What happens during the festival

The format has several components running simultaneously. Participating restaurants across Dubai offer special DFF menus — fixed-price lunch and dinner deals at various price points, often including dishes not on the regular menu. The outdoor Beach Canteen typically occupies a waterfront location such as La Mer or JBR, bringing together food trucks, pop-up kitchens, and street food vendors with live entertainment most evenings. Entry to the outdoor venue is typically free; food and drink are paid separately. Evenings here are relaxed and family-friendly.

Culinary masterclasses and chef demonstrations run throughout the festival, with a mix of ticketed paid events and free talks. Dubai-based chefs as well as visiting names from the wider region participate.

Best bets for visitors

The DFF restaurant deals are genuinely worthwhile if you plan to eat out anyway. Booking ahead is essential for the more popular participating restaurants, especially on weekends. The outdoor market element is easier to access without planning and works well as an evening activity combined with a walk along the waterfront.

October and early November in Dubai sit in the shoulder season — temperatures are around 30–35°C and humidity is dropping. Outdoor evenings become comfortable by late October, making the festival timing well-judged for outdoor dining.
